Historic Topeka Cemetery offers three Green Burial Package options for non-embalmed individuals. Green Burial/Natural Burial is a non-invasive, eco-friendly internment.
This alternative interment allows loved ones to return to earth as naturally as possible.
Full Body Green Burial Package
Loved ones may be wrapped in a biodegradable burial cloth made of natural fiber,
such as cotton, wool or linen; or placed in a woven basket or casket made of natural
materials allowing them to be interred naturally.
*Full Body Green Burial Package includes: one full size space, opening and closing of the ground, a location disc, recording fees and a memorial wall plaque engraved with name and dates.
Cremation Green Burial Package
Loved ones cremains can be interred directly or placed inside a naturally sourced biodegradable bag or container.
*Cremation Green Burial Package includes: cremation space, ground opening and closing, a location disc, linen bag (upon request), recording fees and an engraved memorial wall plaque.
Scattering Garden Package
(For families who wish to scatter their loved ones ashes)
Family and friends may scatter the cremains of their loved one with the use of bamboo tubes (provided by HTC) in a garden area setting.
*Scattering Garden Package includes: scattering of the cremains, use of bamboo tubes, recording fees and a memorial wall plaque engraved with name and dates.
